Ellen Hutson | Essentials by Ellen Winter + Christmas Release Sneak Peek

Christmas will be here before you know it and the next Ellen Hutson release is so gorgeous and fun! All week long, there will be tons of inspiration and designer tips on the Ellen Hutson blog and all of the Design Ambassadors will be sharing more on Instagram so be sure to keep your eye on the #ellenhutsonllc hashtag!

I'm sneaking the new set called Cup of Cheer and, if you know me, I love drinks so this was the perfect assignment for me. I combined it with the Tiny Stars Background, Tilt 'n Rock and Hands dies for a super duper fun interactive card where the hand pours the drink into the glass!

The first thing I did was stamp all of the images with black pigment ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I used artist brushes and distress inks on a craft mat to watercolour the images. I also used a foam blending tool to add colour to the hands. You can find all of the distress ink colours in the supply links below.

Next, I cut the main panel from Jawbreaker cardstock and used the Tiny Stars Background with silver shimmer hot foil on Wax Lips cardstock. I trimmed it down and attached it to the main panel. I assembled the holly and candy cane on the glass using liquid glue.

Next, I attached the bottle to the hand using glue dots and gauged position of the drink and hand before heat embossing the sentiment on the panel with sparkling snow embossing powder. Then I assembled the Tilt 'n Rock pieces to the back of the panel and attached the hand to it.

When the interactive element was completed, I added two layers of foam tape to the back of the panel and attached it to a white linen card base. To finish, I popped on the glass with foam tape. Even with the clean and simple design, there's just so much to look at with the heat embossing, heat foiling and interactive element.

Everything in this fabulous and fun new release will be available exclusively at Ellen Hutson this Friday, October 15th at 12pm EST and we'll be celebrating in style with an Instagram Hop complete with giveaways. I hope to see you there!
