72 set, one cracked pencil, company is replacing it
I got the 72 set and it had a fully cracked yellow pencil in it. So make sure you check all of your pencils over right away and sharpen them as soon as possible in case they might crack from that. Your going to be doing a lot of that as these pencils have VERY soft leads and wear down fast and the lead breaks once in a while. Be really careful with these, they shouldn't be for kids in this case and beginners beware. You can't press super hard and you should be rotating your pencil consistently so the pressure isn't only on one side and the lead is wearing down evenly.I will say, do not purchase the $7 black Prismacolor pencil sharpener. It's a great sharpener but the case it's in is so cheap I can't even open it to empty it...day 2. There was also a huge piece of super hard graphite from a pencil stuck way down in the bottom of one of the sharpeners (like most this one has to holes for different sized pencils). It came from Prismacolor through Amazon and was sealed in brand new packaging. Even without that weirdness, it's cheaper than a crappy grocery store one. I'm on the hunt for another one. This will be #4 in a very little time frame. Not sure what to try next.Prismacolor was really great. I'm not sure I'll ask for a replacement or refund one day after I just asked for a new yellow pencil, but I will be writing them to let them know what happened. I have a feeling they won't believe me.

The colors are vibrant and goes on smoothly. These are the best pencils for blending colors. They last longer if you can hand sharpen them and take care not to drop them, which could shatter the leads. If you use certain colors a lot, like apple green, you can buy them individually and not have to buy the whole box of 72. A word of caution to Amazon shoppers. Be aware of the 'sold by' company. I bought a set from a company with a foreign sounding name and they were knock offs! It was obvious as soon as I opened the box. In photo above pencils #1,3,5,7 from left are Prismacolor pencils. The others are counterfeits....note the totally different colors with same names.
