Now, let’s check out what I created utilizing this cardmaking kit!
When I first saw the moon die included in this kit, I knew exactly what kind of card I wanted to make: a shaker card! Do you like finding creative ways to use your products in order to expand the life of them?! I do!
These are the steps in which I created this card:
1.) First, I took one of the TE Foil It – Over the Moon panels (in my favorite Twinkle, Twinkle Background design) and foiled the panel with Deco Foil – Rose Gold transfer sheet.
2.) Next, I used the Over the Moon Die to cut a moon-shaped window into the foiled panel. In order to create a frame for the moon, I traced the die onto TE Sea Salt cardstock, and then fussy cut the traced moon image out with a pair of scissors. I then took the die and die-cut the moon shape out of the fussy cut moon image. Ba-BAM! What you’re left with, is a perfect frame for the moon!
3.) While the MINC machine was still on, I decided to incorporate another foil technique. I stamped and clear embossed the “over the moon for you” sentiment onto TE Sea Salt cardstock. I then took the same Deco Foil – Rose Gold transfer sheet used for the background panel and used it to foil the clear embossed sentiment. This gave a gritty, rough foiled look! It’s perfect because it coordinates with the look of the moon! *SWOON*
4.) Of course, I did not end there with foiling techniques. For the star embellishments, I die-cut multiple stars out of TE cardstock that was backed with double-sided adhesive. I then exposed the sticky side of the star and pressed it onto the same Deco Foil – Rose Gold transfer sheet. This type of foil adheres to anything sticky as well as toner. Bam! Lovely foiled stars created in seconds!
5.) Lastly, I put the entire card design together. I created a shaker window using TE Acetate and foam adhesive with the lovely Rose Gold Star mix that came in the kit. I love this color! I then placed the foiled heat embossed sentiment and foiled stars around the moon shaker element. This was all adhered onto a top-folding, A2-sized card base. :D!
So much foil, which adds such glam to the card design! Let’s check out my next card project…
This card was made at the same time, and in a similar way. The background panel was foiled in the same Deco Foil – Rose Gold transfer sheet as the first card, but I added a bit of ink-blending to the edges. I thought it created a nice bright center to show off the shaker portion!
I also clear heat embossed and foiled the sentiment, but this time I did it on TE Blue Corn cardstock instead of TE Sea Salt. How do you like the contrast? I love how the foil picked up the texture of the clear heat embossing. It gave the look of the moon’s surface!
I performed all three foiling techniques on this card as I did on the first card. It was really neat to incorporate different foiling techniques onto one card. Sometimes you do not need a heating device, depending on what look you’re going for!
If you look closely, the moon has raised areas to it! The moon die actually has a pattern within it so that one can emboss the moon as well as die-cut it! TE thinks of it ALL!!!! I did add a bit of TE Sea Salt ink to the embossed areas of the moon to give it more depth and dimension.
For the shaker portion, I added TE Bits & Pieces – Sparkly Stars to the mix just to change up the color scheme a bit. I almost regretted it, but once it was adhered down…there was no going back! Ha! It played nicely with the color of the moon.
Overall, this kit was fun to create with! I love the different ways one could use this kit! I happened to foil it all, but I also created interactive cards that had a lot of texture and layers to them! That’s my kind of style! :)!
